A modern accountancy firm is currently recruiting for a Client Accountant on a permanent basis for their office based in Waterlooville. This unique opportunity offers onsite parking, full study support (if wanted/needed) as well as flexible working. The Client Accountant job presents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual, wishing to join a supportive, fun, vibrant and people-focused environment. The successful Client Accountant will act like a mini financial controller for their portfolio of clients, offering both statutory accounting including accounts preparation, VAT, as well as supporting them with management accounts and commercial decision making for their businesses.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Account preparation & tax return for clients, including Sole Traders, Partnership and Limited Companies
  • Assess and advise clients on their tax position
  • To review bookkeeping and VAT returns
  • Liase with HMRC and assist with resolving queries

What you will need:

  • Experience with preparing accounts and tax returns
  • Must have minimum AAT membership
  • Sound tax knowledge
  • Experience working in practice
  • Knowledge with QuickBooks and Xero would be an advantage
  • Ability to hold conversation at stakeholder level
