We’re recruiting an ambitious Tax Senior to join a corporate tax advisory team based in Portsmouth on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be working within large corporate advisory and compliance to strategic planning for companies and their owners.

This role would suit someone who is currently working in tax or looking to transfer to a tax advisory role from a general practice background.

As a Tax Senior, you’ll be responsible for completing client tax returns, reviewing work of junior members of the team and supporting with any client queries.

Reporting to the Tax Manager the Tax Senior is responsible for:

• Liaising with clients to discuss any concerns or queries raised.
• Review corporation tax returns
• Prepare client tax returns
• Create strategies for tax planning opportunities
• Support other members of the team with any queries related to tax and VAT.

 
What you will need:

• Accounting or tax qualified
• Experience of working as a Practice Senior/ Tax Manager / Tax Accountant / Tax Associate / Tax Senior / Group Tax Manager / Corporate Tax Manager / International Tax Manager or similar
• Proven ability to think strategically and translate strategy into implementation, plan and deliver on that
• Eagerness to improve, take initiative
• Demonstrate technical competence & experience and knowledge of IFRS & UK tax
• Experience working with auditors and UK tax authorities
• Excellent IT skills, in particular advanced competency in Experience of using SAP would be beneficial.
• Solid commercial acumen
• Exceptional interpersonal skills – able to work in a small team, and to quickly build good working relationships with all internal and external members
