Due to continued growth, a highly successful business services organisation on the outskirts of Southampton is currently recruiting a Trainee Credit Controller on a permanent basis. This unique opportunity offers onsite parking/ Remote working (extremely flexible), full AAT study support / training and a competitive benefits package. The Trainee Credit Controller will be part of an inclusive team, supporting internally to support collecting outstanding monies, focusing on query resolution and sales ledger maintenance across the group. This role would be excellent for someone who is looking to start their career in finance!

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will be responsible for:
 

  • Updating the sales ledger on a daily basis
  • Co-ordinate with stakeholders and credit team to collect outstanding debt
  • Analytical reports
  • Managing invoice queries and issuing credit notes / rebates
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Posting invoices onto the sales ledger
  • Allocating payments
  • Set up / update / maintain client accounts
  • Reconciliation of sales ledger

What you will need:

  • Experience in job roles such as; Credit Controller / Sales Ledger Clerk / Finance Administrator / Accounts Assistant / Credit Supervisor / Debt Collection Agent / Recoveries Clerk / Collections / Collector
  • Good communication skills
  • Confidence to deal with customers via phone and email
  • Excel
